This is a view from the opposite side of the castle courtyard, a more dramatic
composition, due to the cloudy weather, as opposed to the view
without clouds.
The same rigorous approach is enabling us to admire the details of the late Gothic architecture, starting with the beautiful covered stairs on the right.
Above, there is a nice example of an "erker", a German architecture alcove looking like an ornamented, covered balcony, intended to stand the
weather of the North. It appears that this time, the courtyard is seen by Dürer from the balcony of the gate tower.
